Welcome to the Midlife Reset Project
I wish I knew where this was heading. I know I want to document my journey. I want to embark on said journey. I want to share that journey so others can be inspired to do the same. Hitting mid-life isn’t the be all, end all. Life’s just getting started.
Accept the past
Redefining where I’m heading means I need to accept what’s already happened. There is zero point dwelling on what I could have done differently, how I could have been more (insert your preferred verb or adjective here) or what I wish hadn’t happened at all. Today helps shape tomorrow. What I did or didn’t do yesterday isn’t going to change that. It’s time to live in the present, enjoying these moments, albeit focusing on what I want the future to look like.
Pick a Starting Point
Do you know where to start? I sure don’t. We’re ingrained to be able to list a hundred ‘if only I” sentences into our day. It is extremely overwhelming. And the best part; being mid-life already – we’re half way through a dozen tasks or projects.
Focus small. One small pivot today, will help drive tomorrow.
Check out the idea of micro-productivity here; when goals seem too hard to tackle, sometimes little steps make the biggest difference.
